The third installment takes a different approach by concentrating the terror around a single primary animatronic, Springtrap, while introducing phantom versions of previous characters that can disrupt the player’s equipment. Set in a horror attraction built upon the ruins of the original pizzerias, the player must now contend with a more complex system of ventilation, audio, and camera systems to avoid Springtrap’s grasp and manage the hallucinogenic effects of the phantoms. This game further deepens the series’ storyline, unveiling more about the tragic events that led to the current state of affairs.
